FillingTheVoid
Maurits Cornelis Escher greets the CERME14 community

In a special collaboration with the Escher Foundation, our congress can also include in its wide-ranging programme the exhibition ‘FillingTheVoid’, curated by Federico Giudiceandrea, a local entrepreneur and engineer, great fan of the Dutch artist’s work.

The exhibition is even more significant if we consider that it was the scientific community, and in particular the mathematical community, that contributed to Escher’s wider fame from the 1950s: it offers 25 of the most recent works dedicated to the tessellation of the plane, some by the artist itself, others by contemporary artists inspired by him.

The exhibition is on display in the NOISE room of the NOI Techpark (building A1, ground floor) and can be visited free of charge by CERME14 guests from 8 am to 9 pm from Monday 3rd to Friday 7th February 2025, from 9 am to 8 pm on Saturday 8th February 2025.
